Daikatana deathmatch (114MB) [W]
If you want a taste of old school FPS look no further than Daikatana Deathmatch aka Daikatana DM. Created by the same people who created Wolfenstein, Doom and Quake. This special Multiplayer only version will allow players to feel the nostalgia of how original FPS games were played.

1. This is a special fan modified game that does not need the original Diakatana game to work. This special standalone mod has been approved by John Romero himself (lead developer of Daikatana)

Pedal Power(22MB)[W]
Fun and colorful 3D racing game made to promote fitness, but don't worry you can even enjoy it if you are a couch potato. It has a single player mode but it is mainly for practicing as the game has no computer opponents.
To create a game , one person on the LAN (network) must click on New Game and the rest must click on Join Game. One player can race with up to 7 other LAN players! (no online play though)You will also have to allow the game to pass through your firewall.
Note: There are only two tracks in the game and you can only race 1 type of vehicle.

Red Alert: A path beyond(~700MB)[WM]
Oooooh Soviet Artillery my favorite!
Here is an interesting idea, what would happen if you turned one of the greatest RTS games into a FPS? Well you get A path Beyond that's what. This is a LAN & Online playable (single player is mostly for practicing) game. You can choose to be a variety of units and drive vehicles, pilot various aircraft(ie you live the action) etc..

Smokin Guns(~340MB)[WML]
Originally a mod for the Quake 3 engine it is now a standalone game with a old western theme. The player models may not be up to par with the rest of the game but it still works. Modes include single-player with bots, LAN multiplayer and Online(I think). The game is quite enjoyable but player need to know a few details first. One is that this game aims to be somewhat realistic and therefore the reload times for guns maybe slower than other games to be accurate with the real weapons. Also there are no health packs in this game. IE if you get hit you health cannot be replenished. A nice feature is the shop feature, around the game will coins and money which can be used to buy ammo, weapons(including a gattling gun!) and other items such as a boiler plate for chest only protection. (To use the shop just press B on the keyboard).

Real golden oldie here, Tribes 1 was launched in 1998(yes its more than 10 years old!) as a sci-fi multiplayer FPS that could be played both online and via LAN. What is lacks in graphics quality (compared to modern LAN games) it more than makes up for it playability and fun. Supports multiple games modes (Deathmatch, CTF and more) with multiple types of weapons including sniper rifle, explosive disc launcher, shot ranch gattling gun etc. Tribes 2 provided even more fun that included more players (up to 128 players!) and vehicles.
